Taste of Polo

At Guards Polo Academy, Coworth Park.

1 Hour, 3 Hour Half Day and Full Day Experiences to include:

  • Introduction, Rules & Techniques
  • Foot Mallet Practices
  • Wooden Horse Practices
  • Riding
  • Stick & Balling
  • Prizes & Photographs

This polo experience entails a rotation of polo-based activities starting with an introduction to the game by a professional player, an exhibition of ‘polo’ horsemanship, showcasing the agility and ability of both player and horse.  Learning the polo swing techniques on wooden horses, learning to ride a polo pony, a ‘stick and ball’ session where you combine riding and hitting the ball, ‘Polo Pony Pit Stop’ which is very hands on learning to tack up and kit out a polo pony as the professionals do it.  Finally they can watch a proper game of polo before adjourning for lunch.

The aim with ‘A Taste of Polo’ is to present a snapshot into the world of polo, the actual riding element is not obligatory although we rarely see anyone not taking the opportunity to have a go.  Your clients can be complete beginners, in fact, never have been on a horse before, as our horses are extremely experienced in their craft and will look after beginners encouraging their fledgling polo talents!

The polo activity would take place at the Dorchester Collection’s Coworth Park Country House Hotel situated 5 minutes from Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park.

For lunch there are two options either a private room at Coworth or Guards Polo Club where their in house caterers are Mosimann’s.
