A ‘legend’ of a lunch

FAR more than your ordinary Friday week lunch was hosted by Eclipse Sports Promotions on Friday May 19 at Gaucho Picadilly, London. Icons from the Football field came far and wide to join for a charity Legends Lunch which celebrated sporting excellence while supporting the Sports Connections Foundation.

Starters of Sea Bream Cerviche were served as footballers Paul Allen and Steve Sedgley had their table regaled of their mis-endeavours. When the mains of Churrrasco Rump arrived, Tony Cascarino and Trevor Stevens guests were in hysterics – by the time the Dulce Flan came Alvin Martin and Dave Beasant’s table were hanging off their every word. Not to forget, John Solako’s jokes were (and his singing), like the fine wine served, truly flowing for the after dinner entertaining speeches.

CEO of Eclipse Sports Promotions, Steve Surridge, enthused: “19 years on from starting Eclipse Sports Promotions, it is still great to be able to deliver an event for our clients where they spend quality time with the ex-football pros that we all used to idolise from the terraces on a Saturday afternoon and listen to so many funny stories from their playing days!”
